A collection of construction examples of SANSUI-SHA, which creates various commercial spaces using old folk house building materials (KOBOKU®︎). Iwata Design Studio designs and takes major photographs.
This booklet begins with documentary photographs of craftsmen who followed the dismantling of an old folk house and its resurrection into a new commercial space. Next, the company history for 2030, which is the 100th anniversary of the company's founding, will be shown, and various construction cases will be developed visually.
These photographs have words and ideas, and more than words, they speak out about the atmosphere of the scene. This booklet is organized as a 56-page photobook.
When we turn the pages, we can feel the modern value of the work of the craftsmen and the unique individuality of the space that utilizes KOBOKU®︎.
The cover design is made by digitally processing old wood photographs. This is a hybrid image of old organic culture such as old folk houses and craftsmen, and the near future of 2030.
