Okawari Zanmai

Rendered in the Style of an Anatomical Diagram

“Okawari Zanmai” is a simply prepared assortment of bar snacks made from fresh cuts of pork slaughtered on the same day. Designed to be enjoyed with beer or wine during a quiet moment after work—or on the Shinkansen ride home from a business trip—the product is sold at locations such as Tokyo Station.
With an additive-free, gently seasoned flavor profile, it is crafted not only for working adults but also for children to enjoy.
The package design centers on an illustration of a pig. Cuts such as skirt steak (harami) and liver are clearly indicated in a diagrammatic, encyclopedia-style layout, allowing viewers to understand exactly which part of the animal each product represents.

Directing the Gaze Toward the Illustration

All textual elements—including the product name—are positioned along the outer edges of the layout, creating a composition that prioritizes the central illustration.
The predominantly monochrome design incorporates selective color accents, naturally guiding the viewer’s attention to specific cuts—such as harami and liver—within the pig’s anatomy.

Minimal Packaging Structure

The pouch packaging is sealed simply with a header card at the top. By adopting a restrained printing and finishing specification, physical production costs are kept under control while maintaining a composed and distinctive product presence.
