山翠舎事例集｜SANSUI-SHA 2030

現場を体感する写真集

古民家建材（古木®︎）を活用して商空間を作る、山翠舎の施工事例集。デザインと、主だった写真の撮影を岩田デザイン事務所が手がけています。
冊子は、古民家の解体、そして新しい商空間に蘇るまでを追った職人たちのドキュメンタリー写真で始まります。続いて、創業100周年にあたる2030年に向けての会社ヒストリーが示され、さまざまな施工事例がビジュアルで展開します。
写真がおのずと言葉や思想を持ち、言葉以上に現場の空気を饒舌に語り出す。職人たちの仕事が持つ現代的な価値や、古木を活用した空間の特異な個性が、ページをめくる中で体感的に伝わる、そんな総56ページの写真集として構成しています。

Sansui-sha Case Study Collection | SANSUI-SHA 2030

A photo book capturing the atmosphere of the worksite.

This publication presents a selection of projects by Sansui-sha, featuring commercial spaces created using reclaimed materials from traditional Japanese houses (KOBOKU®).
Design and principal photography were produced by Iwata Design Studio.
The book opens with a documentary photo sequence following the craftsmen’s work—from the dismantling of old houses to the rebirth of their materials in new commercial spaces. It then traces the company’s history toward its 100th anniversary in 2030, followed by a visual showcase of completed projects.
The photographs speak for themselves, conveying the atmosphere of the worksites more vividly than words. As the pages unfold, readers encounter the contemporary value of craftsmanship and the distinctive character of spaces shaped by reclaimed wood.
The result is a 56-page photo book designed as an immersive visual experience.

Cover Design

古木の写真をデジタル加工して制作。古民家や職人といった古いオーガニックな文化と、2030年の近未来をハイブリッドさせるイメージにしています。

The cover image was created by digitally processing a photograph of reclaimed wood.
It blends the organic culture of traditional houses and craftsmanship with a near-future vision of 2030.

職人たちのドキュメンタリー

A Documentary of the Craftsmen

巻頭は10ページにわたり、職人たちによる古民家の解体にはじまり、古木の手入れ、仮組、そして移築までの仕事を追ったドキュメンタリー写真集になっています。解体・仮組・移築それぞれの現場へ通い、写真撮影も行いました。

The opening ten pages form a documentary sequence following the craftsmen’s work—from dismantling traditional houses to restoring the reclaimed wood, temporary assembly, and eventual reconstruction.
We visited each stage of the process—dismantling, assembly, and relocation—to document the work on site.
